Triad Tactics mission requirements
Follow these requirements when developing a mission for the Triad Tactics server. For the World Editor settings, see Configure a mission for Triad Tactics.
Mission concept
Section titled “Mission concept”Discussing the concept with the administrators before starting is recommended. This can prevent spending considerable time on a mission whose premise does not suit the server’s games.
Missions based on ongoing military conflicts are prohibited. Maps with clear parallels to those conflicts are also prohibited.
Sides and playable slots
Section titled “Sides and playable slots”Triad Tactics uses a rotation system. Missions must support games with 128 participants and provide 127 playable slots.
- Only two sides are allowed. Three-sided missions are prohibited.
- Each side must have at least 60 fighters. With 127 playable slots, the most uneven permitted split is 60 versus 67.
- Each side must have at least eight units. Small groups of two or three people, such as armored vehicle crews, platoon command elements and special-purpose slots, do not count toward these eight.
Exceptions to the eight-unit minimum are allowed. For example, large USMC squads may make it impossible to fit eight squads within a side’s player count. In such cases, each squad must have at least two backpack radios, allowing community units sharing that squad to operate independently. These exceptions require separate approval from the administrators.
Historical accuracy and asset quality
Section titled “Historical accuracy and asset quality”Unit organization, weapons, uniforms and equipment must match the chosen military unit and historical period. These will be checked during mission review.
Pay attention to aesthetics: do not use poor-quality models of armored vehicles, weapons or other equipment. Widely used Arma addons such as RHS, WCS and Tactical Flava are recommended.
Gameplay mods
Section titled “Gameplay mods”Missions must include Triad Tactics Core. It brings together all gameplay mods used on the server. Other gameplay mods are prohibited without approval from the administrators.
This includes mods that change sounds, visual effects, shooting mechanics, animations, markers and other aspects of gameplay.
Mission rules and presentation
Section titled “Mission rules and presentation”State mission-specific rules clearly. Use headings, lists and emphasis for important conditions so that players can find the information they need. See Briefing for formatting instructions and markup examples.
Triggers and points
Section titled “Triggers and points”Missions must use triggers. Agree on trigger point values with the administrators.
For the point settings and statistics zone component, see Configure a mission for Triad Tactics.
